What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is an apparatus-based form of exercise, that utilizes the principles of Mat Pilates and movement principles.  The reformer adds spring-loaded resistance to facilitate a whole body exercise without impact or strain on the body.

Do I need grip socks?

Yes, for both sanitary and safety purposes, we highly encourage/ask that all clients wear grip socks during their sessions.

Due to recent unfortunate staining of our white leather reformers, we kindly ask that ONLY grip socks purchased in our studio be used. Thank you for understanding and helping us maintain a clean and safe environment for everyone!

How often should I do Pilates?

We encourage a minimum twice a week to really achieve the benefit of Pilates and what it provides.  Our class schedule is designed so that you can attend a class each day of the week. Higher frequency/consistency with regard to attendance, will achieve faster results into mind, body and the connection between the two.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes, private lessons are available to book based on studio and instructor availability — please email hello@pilateslaboratory.com for availability.

How early should I arrive for class?

No! If you have a basic movement and fitness level, ‘FLOW’ can be a great class to jumpstart your Pilates journey. If you are looking for more challenge, choose ‘SCULPT’! If you have never used the reformer and feel more comfortable with an introductory/personalized session, private booking can be a great option.

Can I do Pilates if I am injured/pregnant?

For the safety and sanitation of all clients, grip socks are highly suggested during all reformer and studio sessions. Due to past experiences with staining on our white leather reformers, only grip socks from Pointe Studio and Lucky Honey are permitted for use in the studio. We appreciate your understanding in maintaining the cleanliness and quality of our equipment.
